Our guest is Steven Calvin, a maternal-fetal medicine physician who is currently serving on the US HHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Infant Mortality (SACIM). Dr.Calvin has 40 years of experience in the field and is the founder and medical director of the Minnesota Birth Center. We have a wide-ranging conversation discussing trends in maternal mortality, COVID and pregnancy, and the role of midwives in the ecology of obstetric care.
